Mindset Matters

Mindset Matters as we know, but...what does this REALLY mean?

Our thoughts are extremely temporary (hello squirrel!) but the repetitive thoughts create our reality. Our brain wants to be right, so what we continue to tell it time and time and time again it will believe to be true (and eventually become a habit, too.)

Why does this matter?

If you are constantly telling yourself:

  • I don't matter.

  • I am worthless.

  • I am ugly/fat/stupid..

  • I need a drink

  • I deserve a drink

  • A drink will help me feel better

  • I can't moderate

Guess what? Your brain is going to believe it.

So, what now?

Now is the time to focus on your mindset because your MINDSET MATTERS.

Next time you have a thought that stays on loop, ask yourself if there is any truth to the thought? Does it really matter? Is this helpful? How can I turn this into a positive or constructive thought? What is the reality of the situation?

The next time you have a thought that is belittling remind yourself - COMPARISON IS THE THIEF OF JOY. Understand what the truth actually is and (again) always find something positive or constructive. For example, anytime I look in the mirror or see a picture of myself I remind myself IMMEDIATELY to find something I like. It's so easy to point out what we don't like or focus on an insecurity, but when you focus on the good, the good gets better!

Everything is temporary. Breathe through it. Feel what you need to feel. Then move on.

Challenge/Homework: Start EVERY DAY and end EVERY NIGHT with a minimum of 1 affirmation. Here is my helpful list so feel free to use any/all of these - or you can create your own! Take time to feel the affirmation and let it soak in. Eventually, you will believe it and it will be the truth!

You deserve it. You are worth it.
